Discussion
Placement of the cameras to monitor the intersection will be diagonally across from each other being on top of the corresponding stop sign.
Creating a sketch or 3-D model of the camera system to be added to the progress log and/or block diagram. A complete system model also to be potential created to give a visual representation of the project.
Reconstruction of the proposed timeline as the project draft report needs to be started at a earlier time.

Potentially downgrading the initial Lidar to be more budget friendly.
Updates for website

Meeting 7
03/05/2021
Start Time: 5:01 pm

End Time: 5:53 pm

Discussion
Monitoring of vehicles entering and exiting the intersection with the use of proximity sensors created a concern as the idea of having a possible eight sensors seemed too much and implementing a timer with a lower amount of sensors does not make the system efficient enough.
A possible idea came in the form of having the lidar sensor follow the vehicle as it makes its turn to confirm entry and exit of the intersection. Weatherproofing seemed to be a possible issue as the structure holding the components would need to have a cut out to allow mobility.
An agreed upon potential solution would be to add image recognition with two cameras placed on top of two diagonal placed stop signs to have the view of the entire intersection. With the intersection in view boundaries can be placed to know when a vehicle has entered and exited the intersection.
Updates for website
Make additions to weekly meetings and time & effort logs.
Revise the engineering requirements and project specifications, also create a testing plan.
Meeting 6
02/25/2021
Start Time: 5:02 pm

End Time: 6:05 pm

Discussion
Expansion of Project Breakdown:
The proposed timeline was analyzed and clarity on if there was a need for one of the actions was given. The action of specifying incoming vehicles was dropped to focus on just the monitoring of the incoming traffic. Suggested from this was how would the system know when a vehicle has enter and exit the intersection.
The idea of a laser to be used in a similar manner to a garage system, where once the laser's line of sight is broken at the initial stop sign would give the indication that the vehicle is crossing. When the other laser's line of sight broken then this indict it would be completing it crossing.
This idea had a concern that if a vehicle had already broken the line of sight because of stopping ahead of the line, what would be the solution. Possibility of a timer added to system but a proximity detector system was discussed as a solution.
Corrections were brought up for the Engineering specifications and project requirements.
The suggestion to provide a simulation of the project was taken into consideration, also to think of different scenarios for the project to possibly be in.

Meeting 5
02/18/2021
Start Time: 5:04 pm

End Time: 5:41 pm

Discussion
The block diagram needs to have a control module added and connects to the master microcontroller.
-
The more detailed block diagram addition to the overall project diagram.
Research and create a way to monitor vehicles beginning and completion of turns to accurately start the vehicle in queue. Current idea a laser that will be monitored when broken.
The power and fund budget to be connected through one link instead of two.
Think of how to have proper insulation for the overall project to weather unfavorable conditions.
Updates for website
Create a proposed timeline to keep members accountable on task when beginning to create the project.
Have a detailed explanation of the project available either on the landing page or another link.
In the proposal idea page make the finalized idea apparent.
Add dates to the progress log.
Meeting 4
02/11/2021
Start Time: 5:01 pm

End Time: 5:48 pm

Updates for website
Add time spent on all activities.
Change the layout for progress log and time & effort as time & effort is a condensed progress log.
Discussion
Research came up short on statistics on accidents at a 4-way stop intersection locally and statewide.
When reviewing the block diagram of the stop system a communication module was brought up to be added.
The research on possible decreasing the potential amount of 4 microcontrollers was not concrete, the project made have to use four.
Proper detection of incoming vehicles to decide who reaches the stop sign first and solar power management.
